Engagement with Faith Communities is a fundamental aspect of our work. Within Pendle we have a proud history of how we have facilitated for the coming together of Faith leaders and their congregations to take a further active role in developing a community that is bound together in many ways.
The Pendle Forum of Faiths is a representative body of the Faith Communities of Pendle. Building Bridges Pendle has played a pivotal role in creating this group which at present consists of Imams and Ministers from across the Borough. The forum meets regularly to discuss and address issues of mutual concern and to promote social cohesion.
The aims of this forum are to:
• Safeguard that no one is discriminated against for reason of their Faith.
• Find common ground over issues of mutual concerns.
• Contribute to addressing all issues of social concern and promote social cohesion.
• Use the richness of diversity to enable the Forum to speak with one voice.
• To present a united front against people who are intent on damaging good community relations in Pendle.
• Welcome all those who share and support the aims and objectives of the Pendle Forum of Faiths.
