Key Successes

Building Bridges Pendle has a strong record of delivering publicly funded projects supported by Government departments; Government Office North West, North West Development Agency, Pendle Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, Community Development Foundation, amongst many other sources. On the strength of our engagement at a grassroots level on a range of community development agendas, our good practice has been acknowledged by partners and practitioners at many levels.

This award ceremony has been setup to give recognition to groups and individuals in Pendle who have excelled in the area of volunteering.

It is the fourth year that the ceremony has been running and this year; Dr Ikram Malik (Chairman of BBPendle) received the ‘Lifetime achievement award’.

Social Inclusion Award

Pride of Nelson Awards
The Pride of Nelson Awards has been setup by Nelson Town Council for the first time this year to recognise groups and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the town.

An event was held at the ACE Centre on Monday 13th December at which Building Bridges Pendle won the Social Inclusion Award for “an outstanding contribution to social cohesion in Pendle”.

Practical Spirit is an Interactive project development for faith based organisations involved in social action

In Practical Spirit members of ten faith based social action projects (including BBPendle) share their learning about different aspects of project development. They illustrate how their faith values infuse the particular aspect of project management and offer real practical advice drawn from theory and experience.
